Fresh Market Bag Service

Supporting Local Food Production

The Trinity Growers Association is comprised of over 40 different farmers, gardeners, and artisan food producers in Trinity and Humboldt Counties.  Our goal is to support our regional food growers and artisan food producers in consistently providing their produce and goods to the community in a sustainable & affordable way during the Fresh Market Bag Service season. The Fresh Market Bag Service makes buying from our local food producers convenient for those who may not have the time or ability to shop the market themselves, or who would like to enjoy the music and relax during the market and have their shopping already done for them!

The Fresh Market Bag Service (FMBS) will provide participants a weekly bag of the freshest locally grown produce, harvested on Tuesday evenings or Wednesday mornings, and brought directly to us to bag up for your convenience. FMBS participants can pre-pay by the week, by the month, or even for the entire season to enjoy a variety of fresh, locally grown and produced foods.

We encourage participants to pre-pay upfront for the whole season, if possible, as it ensures some economic stability for our food producers.

Fresh Market Bags will be available for 18 weeks, every Wednesday at the Weaverville Farmers’ Market from June 1st through September 28th.

Our Food Production Practices

Our farms are not certified organic (as it is very costly for small farmers), however, there is an agreement made by all of our growers to adhere to a strict no-pesticide policy.  All of our growers have also agreed to use conscientious & sustainable food production practices.

Products & Program Fees

The descriptions below outline some of the fruits, vegetables, and artisan food products we hope to provide for our participants this market season. This is based on our best estimates from the past two years of the program, but of course weather, pests, and other events can affect actual production.

We take the safety of your food seriously and our growers are all aware of farm food safety guidelines.  All produce will be washed and kept cool, but for your added protection, please wash all produce well before eating.
